Our Missional Statement

Grace Church is a vibrant community of faith dedicated to sharing the joy, beauty, and consolation of the love that Jesus, his Father, and the Holy Spirit have given us.

Located in the gentle, rolling hills of the Virginia countryside, we have deep roots in the past and an eye to the future. Our story is interwoven with the fabric of local history and heritage stretching back to Thomas Jefferson, who served on the Grace Vestry. The beauty of our historic Gothic Revival church, nearby All Saints Chapel, and wooded grounds is a tangible invitation to join us in worship and fellowship.

Over time, Grace has become a place of reflection that draws artists, musicians, poets, statesmen, entrepreneurs, educators, and others seeking deeper contemplation of the divine. Enriched by the cultural and intellectual life of the nearby University of Virginia, we cherish the sacredness of Holy Communion, the majesty of the Episcopal choral tradition, and a legacy of service embodied in the annual Farm Tour and Blessing of the Hounds.

God is now calling Grace Church to serve the spiritual needs of the growing suburban community around us. We are becoming a multigenerational congregation as young families seek a church home to raise their children in the light of Christ. We welcome this season of renewal as an opportunity to graft new life onto thriving roots.

Building on our strong foundations, we seek to offer people of every age a place to grow as Christians, nurture their creative talents, and volunteer for the service of their community. In everything we do, we aspire to be a welcoming refuge, a place of beauty, belonging, and spiritual renewal for all who seek transformation through Christ’s love and truth.
