Local Oral History
The following are summaries of a few of the interviews we have done with local residents whose family roots run deep in our area, who have lived and worked in Albemarle County during good times and during difficult periods of racial tension during the 20th century. Their comments provide a personal perspective on national events that are part of our shared heritage and history.
This is just a sample of stories collected, and there are more yet to be discovered. The conversations with other local residents are ongoing, and will be collected for future generations. Look for more as our discovery continues, and if you have any thoughts or stories to add please do not hesitate to contact us.
